Spices

India has been known as the “Land of Spices” for over 5,000 years. Ancient texts like the Rigveda and Charaka Samhita mention the use of spices for medicinal and culinary purposes. Black pepper, cardamom, and turmeric were among the earliest spices cultivated.

Today, India is the largest producer and exporter of spices, supplying 70% of the world’s spices.

Indian spices are renowned for their aroma, purity, and medicinal benefits.

The country produces over 75 varieties of spices, including turmeric, cumin, coriander, red chili, and fenugreek.
